From the Nashville Dispatch |
|
December 7, 1862 |
|
It is reported that the Confederates have
blown up the piers of the railroad bridges, heretofore burned at Duck
river and Harpeth, on the Nashville & Decatur Railroad, and that
they are removing all the iron rails between Columbia and Franklin {20
miles} to some point South, and destroying the cross-ties. |
{The Dispatch was a Union paper,
but this information was of great importance to the stockholders and
businessmen in Nashville. I have not found this information in any
Confederate paper.} |
