| Effects of the Freshet |
|
The recent freshet was general throughout the State and
extended to the South-west. The damage has been heavy to wheat,
bridges, fencing, &c. |

The Shiloh cut, on the Blue Ridge Railroad, has been
nearly filed by a land slide. This will delay the arrival of the
cars at Walhalla for several months. |
