Good News |
We are gratified to learn that orders have been
received to commence work without delay on the road leading from Blue
Mountain to Rome and hurry it to completion. The iron to be used in
laying the track will be taken from roads of minor importance. Millions
of dollars have been lost to the Government by its failure to make this
important connection when it was first brought before and received the
attention of Congress. Better late than never. The completion of this
road will place Selma in direct communication by the iron rail with all
the eastern cities. |
