A meeting of the stockholders
of this company was recently held in Raleigh for the purpose of
organizing. 2,610 shares were represented. Upon the vote for President
being taken, K. P. Battle was elected by almost an unanimous vote. |
The salary of the President
was fixed at $1,500 per annum and that of the Treasurer at not exceeding
$1,000. |
The following gentlemen were
appointed Directors: George W. Mordecai, Dr. W. J Hawkins, J. E. Allen,
S. S. Royster, and Elias Bryan. |
A resolution was passed
authorizing the President and Directors to call for two per cent of the
subscriptions to be paid within thirty days; and after adoption of
by-laws the meeting adjourned. |
