| The Lynchburg (Va.) Republican says the
recent rains caused several heavy slides on the Virginia & Tennessee
Railroad, between Big Springs and Christiansburg, on the Alieghany
mountain. The heaviest slide was in the big tunnel cut, and being almost
exclusively of rock, required several days time to be removed. |
