| From New Orleans to Houston |
| Messrs. Powell, Taylor & Co. have just
organized a daily through mail and passenger line between this city and
Houston, Texas, which will render the greatest services. The four
hundred and thirty-four miles between the two cities will be made in the
following manner: From New Orleans to Berwick's Bay, eighty miles, by
railroad New Orleans, Opelousas & Great Western
RR}; thence to New Iberia, seventy miles, by steamboat; thence to
Niblett's Bluff, one hundred and forty miles, by a double daily line of
four-horse post coaches; from the Bluff to Beaumont, seventy miles, by
steamboat, and thence to Houston, eighty-four miles, by railroad
{Texas & New Orleans RR}. For any further
information, apply at the rotunda of the St. Charles Hotel, up stairs. |
