Railroad Washup |
During the excessively heavy
rains that fell last week, the waters rose along the line of the {Mississippi}
Central Railroad on and near Big Black river, until some ten or twelve
miles of the track was either washed away or so damaged that weeks
will be required to repair it. Col. Goodman is making every effort to
repair it, but we cannot hope for trains through in less than three or
four weeks. The engine on this side of the break will pass up and down
occasionally -- and we will try to get our papers off by it whether
mails run or not. Our subscribers must have some news down the road |
