| Mobile, Dec. 18 |
| On the 18th our forces, on the
Eastern shore, under Gens. Liddell, Colvin, Clahton and Armistead,
pursued and severely punished the Pollard raiders and drove them
beyond Pine Barren Creek, capturing a part of their transportation and
supplies. |
| The road for ten miles were
strewn with the enemy's dead. |
| The damage to the Mobile &
Great Northern Road inconsiderable, and will shortly be repaired. |
| The public buildings at
Pollard were burned. |
