Painfull Accident |
A young gentleman, a nephew of
Mr. R. R. Prentiss, Proctor of the University, was painfully injured
yesterday in stepping on the platform of the cars at the University
station {Virginia Central RR}, while the
train was in motion. The flesh of the cheek was so badly torn as to
hang down on one side over the lower part of the face. He was taken
charge of by Dr. M. Keanie at the hospital, his wound sewed up and
dressed, and at last accounts he was doing well. The hurt though
painful and disfiguring is not supposed to be dangerous. |
From the carelessness with
which people step about on the platforms of cars while in motion, the
only wonder is that more are not killed and crippled. |
