Mr. Ochiltree, of Texas,
presented a memorial from the Texas & New Orleans Railroad Company. He
said he did not desire the memorial read, but simply have it referred to
the military committee. It was unanimously adopted. |

Mr. Conrad, of Louisiana,
presented the petitions of presidents of railroad companies in
Louisiana, and also a bill entitled an act to exempt from duty certain
cars purchased by the New Orleans & Carrollton Railroad Company, which
petition and bill were referred to the finance committee. |
