Railroad Accident |
On Friday morning last, near Goodman, the cars on the
Mississippi Central Railroad ran off the track, causing a general
wreck of the train, by which three soldiers and a negro man were
killed, and several others wounded, more or less severely. Among the
latter was a Mr. Miller, formerly stage driver between this place and
Hillsboro, but recently employed on the road in some capacity, whose
leg was badly broken. The negro killed was a valuable fellow belonging
to Capt. Wm. Priestly. The accident was caused, we learn, by some one
having meddled with a "switch" and left it in a wrong
position.
