Collision on the M. & W. Railroad |
Two trains collided on the
Macon & Western Railroad yesterday, a little above Barnesville,
demolishing five cars and both locomotives pretty completely. The down
train was loaded with wounded soldiers, and, wee learn that several
lives were lost, but we were unable to get particulars before going to
press. This is one of those unfortunate accidents which, though much
we may regret is unavoidable in times of such emergency as the
present, even on roads conducted with the ability and success which
have characterized the operations of this road under its present
management. |
