Col. Campbell Wallace,
President of the E. Tenn. & Ga. Railroad, through his indomitable
and indefatigable exertions, has removed safely to Dalton all the
machinery and rolling stock of the road, not having lost even a screw
-- the locomotive and four old cars, captured by the enemy at
Knoxville, belonged to the E. Tenn. & Va. Road. He arrived in this
city this morning, to obtain the aid of the Georgia State Road to
assist him in removing his stock from Dalton, and it is to be hoped he
will meet with that generous success, which his exertions deserve. |
