The ladies of the Twiggs
County Soldiers' Relief Society would return their grateful thanks to
his honor A. E. Cochran, President of the Macon & Brunswick
Railroad, for the great favor shown them in passing goods, clothes and
other reliefs for our brave soldiers, as well also as transporting our
agents over his road free of charge, other than a ticket or note to
the conductor accompanying each box or package in care of such agent
or agents. |
I would, therefore, in behalf
of the several divisions of said Society, recommend a strict adherence
and implicit obedience to the requisition, that no imposition be
practiced or advantage taken of so praiseworthy and benevolent an act
of the officers and owners of said road. |
