Dear Sir,
The special Committee appointed by the city Council to endeavor to adjust with the President and Directors of the Macon & Western Railroad the matter of possession of the old depot, have had under consideration your proposition, and after a careful examination of the buildings on the premises, have agreed to allow the company (as a compromise) the sum of one thousand dollars, and to take charge and keep up the bridge crossing the Railroad near the residence of Mr. G. J. Roberts, for their relinquishment of all right and title to the entire property, and giving to the city the privilege of crossing their lots near the car house for the purpose of extending Tatnall street to the Forsyth road.
Very respectfully, your ob'dt serv'ts,

M. S. Thompson, Esq., Chairman &c., Macon
Dear Sir,
On the 4th instant, I submitted to the Board of this Company your proposition for the purchase of the Company's interest in the old depot and workshop lots, and the same was accepted, with the simple condition, that I should in company with yourself, examine and have defined the line of the proposed street, to be opened across this Company's lot; and further, that the City and not this Company is to assume the keeping up of the crossing of the Road Track at the new street. As soon as these preliminaries are understood and agreed to, I am authorized to execute a quit claim deed to the premises.
Respectfully yours,
Isaac Scott, Presd't.
