Mr. C. C. Sims, Sr., Dead |
He Was One of the Oldest Citizens of Macon |
Mr. Charles C. Sims, Sr., died
at his home yesterday morning at 1 o'clock of hear failure. |
Mr. Sims was born in Macon
fifty-nine years ago, and was one of the oldest citizens of the city. He
was for a number of years engaged in business in the city, but for the
past several years has followed the occupation of bookkeeper, and was
for a long time connected with the Bibb Manufacturing Company. He served
in the Confederate army with distinction, and returned home when the war
was over with an honorable record |
Mr. Sims had been in declining
health for some time, and for the past week was confined to his home,
but not to his bed. Yesterday morning he was taken suddenly worse and
died in a short while after being taken. He leaves a wife and three
children, Messrs. Roff, Charles C., Jr., and Miss Nellie, all of whom
are grown. The funeral will take place this morning at 11:30 from Christ
church. |
