Sad Casualty -- Two Soldiers Killed |
Yesterday (Saturday) two
soldiers were killed on the South Western Railroad, about seven miles
from Macon, under the following melancholy circumstances: They were on
the top of the cars and one of them standing, was struck by the first
Tobesanfkee bridge, which he did not observe, and almost instantly
killed. His companion sprang to his feet and run to the hinder part of
the train to call surgical assistance, but while running the train
reached the second bridge with equally fatal results in regard to him.
The bodies were brought to town by the evening train. We did not learn
the names of the soldiers. |
