Piedmont Railroad |
We shall be only too glad to
stand corrected in our information by the paragraph copied from the
Richmond Whig. Every day's successive intelligence makes the
importance of completing the Piedmont connection immediately more
apparent and overwhelming. But as our information was from a gentleman
who had been engaged on the work, knew its status and rate of progress
precisely, and had no motive for misrepresentation, we have little
hope that the statements of the paragraph from the Whig will be practically
verified. |
