A Night of Storm
Last night was one of the wildest sort -- the rain pouring, lightning flashing, and thunder pealing. *****
The above description of the heavy rain of last Tuesday night, is from the pen of the poet lauret of the Augusta Chronicle and Sentinel.
The rain did extensive damage to the South-western Railroad, it  as will be several days before trains will commence running again. About 35 miles from Macon, on the Central {(of Georgia)} Road, a break in the embankments delayed the trains for several hours, but the trains are now running regular schedule time. We have heard of no damage to the Macon & Brunswick Road.
