Milledgeville Railroad |
The city council of Macon have
granted to this Railroad Company the privilege of building a bridge
across the Ocmulgee and passing through the reserve and city, to a
Depot in a sum in perpetuity of one thousand dollars annually. The
route will be up Tupelo street from the city line, to or near the line
of Hammond and Bay streets. The Railroad company to keep up safe and
proper crossings. |
The Road is still in rapid
course of construction, and trains are now running daily from Augusta
to Mayfield, on the Ogeechee, within twelve miles of Sparta, Hancock
county. |
