Accident Upon the Central {(of
Georgia)} R. R. |
The down train which left
Macon on Tuesday noon, ran into the Augusta train {Augusta
& Savannah RR} at Millen, as the latter occupied the
Central track for the purpose of baking down to the passenger house.
The engines of both trains were considerably injured -- two box cars
were smashed, and the second class car of one of the trains was
overturned. The only injury to person was in the case of a negro
fireman, who was scalded, but we understand not dangerously hurt. In
consequence of this collision, the up train from Savannah, due at 9
o'clock yesterday morning, did not arrive until the afternoon. |
