Railroad Accident |
The down freight train on the
Southwestern Railroad ran off the track in going down a grade this
side of Montezuma last Monday afternoon, upsetting the Engine and
killing the Engineer, Robert Large, the Fireman, Monroe Sheffield and
a negro boy, wood passer on the train, belonging to H. B. Troutman. We
have been unable to learn the cause of the accident, but understand
the iron is worn nearly flat on that portion of the road, and
attribute it to that cause. |
