Macon & Brunswick Railroad |
Some days ago our community
was startled with a confirmation that orders had come from the War
Department to tear up the rails from the Macon & Brunswick
Railroad. The ????? that an agent of the department had already
arrived with the orders. We are now, however, happy to say that these
orders have all been revoked ????? |
The ??? of the War Department
will ??? ??? of the ??? ??? and gratification to ??? the Macon &
Brunswick Railroad is one of the most important tributaries ??? ???
and subsistence of Macon and the whole surrounding country finding a
market here. It transports large supplies of grain and provisions, and
furnishes the largest part of the food ??? by the people for household
and institutional purposes, and by one or more of the other Roads
leading from the town. Its suspension at that time would have
occasioned no little inconvenience and distress. |
