Fatal Accident on the Brunswick {&
Florida} Road |
We regret to hear, from
passengers by the Savannah, Albany &} Gulf
Road last evening, that a painful accident occurred on the Brunswick
Railroad, Sunday night last. A company of troops (we were unable to
learn their name of county) were passing from No. 9 to Brunswick,
when, owing to a defect in the road, the train ran off, creating quite
a smash up of the cars. A young man named Moore, a Lieutenant, was
killed, and another Lieutenant and several privates badly injured. |
The body of Lieut. Moore
arrived here by the train, and was sent forward to his friends by the
night train on the Central {(of Georgia)} Road. |
