Colonel E. D. Frost,
superintendent of the Mississippi Central railroad, has returned from
a survey of the condition of things above. There are about a dozen
engines that can be put in use, and probably two hundred cars. This embraces
the entire stock above Jackson. The bridges over the Yallabusha cannot
be repaired at present, but there is sufficient stock on the north
side of the river to run both roads. Flats will be used in crossing
the river. |
