{Memphis &} Ohio
Railroad |
We published a report
yesterday of the earnings of the Memphis & Ohio railroad, showing
a degree of prosperity seldom equaled in an undertaking of the kind.
Under the able management of President Wood, assisted by such thorough
business men as Tomehey, Talmadge and Jones, the road has more than
fulfilled the best hopes of its projectors. To these gentlemen has
been added Thomas Dodamead, Esq., to whom has been committed the
responsible duties of superintendent. Since he has been in that
position he has won good will by his attention to the feelings and
convenience of those around him, and respect by the thorough knowledge
of his profession, and the firmness and decision that marks all his
official acts. The Nashville Banner says of him: "Mr.
Dodamead was for a number of years superintendent of the Richmond
& Petersburg railroad, in which position he gave entire
satisfaction. Greater inducements being offered, he became
superintendent of the Virginia Central railroad some five years ago,
which position he held till his acceptance of the same position on the
Memphis & Ohio railroad. Mr. Dodamead is a thorough railroad man,
having been constantly employed as superintendent for many years past,
and will prove himself a decided acquisition to the road with whose
fortune he has now cast his destiny. |
