The "Avalanche," of
Saturday morning last, announces that all the railroads have stopped
running to Memphis. The Memphis & Charleston road has been badly
injured, and its stock sent South. The rolling stock of both the other roads was
entirely removed, with the exception of two locomotives, which were so
badly injured as to render it impossible to remove them. On the
Mississippi & Tennessee road, the bridge across Nonconah creek was
destroyed about noon on Friday, and trains only run up as far as Horn
Lake. |
