Destructive Fire |
A portion of the work shops at
Mount Airy, near Petersburg, Virginia, belonging to the Petersburg
railroad company, were destroyed by fire on the 15th instant. The
estimated loss is between twelve thousand and fifteen thousand
dollars, which is but partially covered by insurance. A valuable
planing mill, with some other machinery, was also destroyed; also a
lot of plank and several new box cars just finishing. |
