For the Boy, John, the
property of the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad Company, who ran
away from Decatur, Georgia about the last of May. He was last heard of
lurking around the army wagon trains on the Pace's Ferry road. Said
boy is very black, about five feet nine inches high, downcast look
when questioned, feigns extreme ignorance at times, and talks very
simple. He calls himself John Caywood and will probably claim to
belong to Mr. Rosner. His wore off a pair of white ??? duck pants,
plain camburg shirt and white wool had -- is a very dirty, slovenly
negro, and walks with a sliding shuffling gait. He is well acquainted
with the country from Decatur to Etowah and will probably attempt to
make his way around the lines. |
