Some few days ago another
accident occurred on the Southern {(of
Mississippi)} railroad at the two-mile bridge, and workmen were
set to repairing the break, which happened at precisely the same place
where the former accident occurred a few weeks since, and by which
several lives were lost, and Mr. Dobbins, messenger of the Pioneer
express, was missing, and supposed to be buried in the mud. While
repairing the break after the second accident on Saturday, his remains
were found in the mire some fifteen feet below the surface, and were
taken out and brought to the city, where they received the rites of
Christian internment. |
