The Southern {(of
Mississippi)} Railroad |
The public will be pleased to
learn there is every prospect at present that this important
thoroughfare will soon be put in good order, and rendered capable of
performing the extraordinary services that now devolve upon it. The
new president of the company, Victor Wilson, Esq., has been for some
days on a tour of observation, with a determination to work a reform,
and the government railroad agent is also on the line. Mr. Wilson
assures us he desires no aid from the government, except in securing
laborers, but will prosecute the work with the utmost vigor. See the
advertisement for hands, published this evening. |
