The bridge over the Holston,
at Union, on the East Tennessee & Virginia railroad, has been completed,
and trains passed over on the 31st. The Knoxville Register says:
"With the completion of this bridge is repaired all the damage done by
the tory incendiaries of East Tennessee. It behooves the government now
to see that these roads are well guarded, and a recurrence of the
vandalism rendered impossible. Too munch importance cannot be attached
to this subject. |
