Man Killed |
Last Thursday as the passenger
train on the Macon & Western railroad was approaching the city,
Peter McEaully, an Irishman and baggage master, was killed by jumping
off the train while it was in motion. We learn that his overcoat
caught in the railing between to cars, jerking him under the wheels,
which ran over both his legs just below the knee, injuring him so
severely that he lived but an hour or two after the occurrences. He
was an old hand on the road, having held the situation as baggage
master for several years. |
