Through to Bristol |
We learn from the Lynchburg
papers that the cars on the Virginia & Tennessee railroad ran
through to Bristol on the 4th inst. The energy displayed by Col.
Dodamead, the indefatigable superintendent, is worthy of note, for he
has put up seven bridges, comprising four hundred feet and replaced
seven miles of road destroyed by the Yankees in their raid, in the
short space of two weeks. It is in contemplation, the Republican
learns, to put the East Tennessee & Virginia railroad in running
order immediately to Carter's depot, beyond Zillicoffer. |
