Railroad Accident |
Yesterday morning, says the
Montgomery Mail, of the 24th a short time before daylight, as the
eastern passenger train on the Montgomery & West Point railroad was
passing a switch at Loachapoka, the engine ran off the track, and,
tumbling down an embankment, turned over and dragged the tender and
three box cars after it. The engine was smashed up particularly and the
other three cars generally. Jack Martin, engineer, and two colored
firemen were badly scalded. No one else hurt. |
