Great Sale of Negroes |
On Saturday week last, Robert
M. Clarke, of Atlanta, Ga., made the greatest negro sale that ever
took place in that market. Twenty-five negro men, their ages varying
from seventeen to twenty-sox, were sold to a railroad company for
$35,725. The lowest price of ay one was $1.200, and the highest
$1,800. The average price of this lot is $1,420. |
