Freight on Coal |
The Central
{(of Georgia)} railroad, ever ready to do
its share in promoting the public convenience and responding to the
necessities of the times, has generously reduced the freight on coal
from Macon to Savannah to $20 per car load. Now let the Macon & Western
and Western & Atlantic roads make a corresponding reduction -- which
they doubtless will -- we shall establish a coal trade with Tennessee
forthwith, and set the blockade at defiance. |
