| The Lynchburg Republican
says that three million dollars were brought to that city on the South
Side railroad on the 16th, and immediately shipped on the Virginia &
Tennessee railroad. This money belonged to the Confederate government,
and is to be used in paying off the troops in the West and Southwest,
and for other purposes of the government. |
