Accidentally Killed |
Lieut. Col. Pressman, Engineer Corps C. S.
A., originally from Alexandria, was accidentally killed last Monday,
on the Piedmont railroad in North Carolina. The train had run off the
track, about 8 miles from Danville, and while it was being adjusted,
the engine and tender had been detached and sent to a neighboring
water tank. As they were running to the train, Col. Pressman started
to run across the track, fell, and was caught and crushed to death by
the ash box of the tender. He lived thirty minutes. |
