500 Negroes Wanted |

Lynchburg, Va., Nov. 14, 1862 |

This Company wishes to hire for the
ensuing year 1863, the above number of able bodied negroes, to be
employed as depot and track hands, wood choppers, brakemen and firemen
on trains, carpenters, blacksmiths, &c. |
The negroes will be amply supplied with
good provisions and good clothing suitable to the season, and will be
well taken care of. |
Persons residing adjacent to the enemy's
lines will find it to their interest to hire their hands on this road,
as it is remote from the seat of war, and consequently their negroes
will be safe from escape to, or capture by the enemy. |

letter, at Lynchburg, Va. |

N. B. Persons residing near the enemy's lines who
have negroes hired to this Company for the year 1862, will inform me
whether they wish their hands returned at Christmas or to remain upon
