| Special Dispatch to the Houston Telegraph |
| Dickinson's Bayou, Dec. 19, 1861, 4 P. M. |
| Two soldiers employed on the
water train {Galveston, Houston & Henderson
RR}, which runs between here and Galveston, were killed this
evening by falling under the cars. |
| The train was in motion when
one of the men who had failed to get on when the train started,
attempted to jump from the platform on to a flat car, and in doing so,
he caught hold of one of his companions, when they both went under
together. |
| The operator there learns
their names were Franklin and Anderson. They were badly cut up. They
belonged to Virginia Point. |
