From Murfreesboro' |
The Murfreesboro' Rebel Banner
of the 22d, has the following paragraphs: |
One by one the main avenues of
railway and telegraphic communication which we enjoyed before the
advent of Abolition rule are being reopened. The railroad line
connecting this place and Huntsville, Ala. {Nashville
& Chattanooga RR}, has been reopened, and trains are
running daily. |
The train that left this place
on Thursday night encountered obstructions near Normandy Station, and
was thrown from the track. The locomotive was plunged into the woods,
and over one hundred and fifty yards of rail tore up. |
The disaster is only serious
from the trouble it affords our military and railroad authorities in
the matter of transportation. We understand the railroad hence to
Chattanooga will be in full working order today. |
