The movement of the railroads
is progressive. We suppose the bridge across the Brazos, on the W. C.
R. {Washington County RR}, must be about
completed by this time, as well as that across the Navasota on the {Houston
& Texas} Central road. Both the Central and the W. C. R,
are now laying down iron. The locomotive has crossed the Trinity at
Liberty, and at last accounts track laying on the Texas & N. O.
road was progressing half a mile a day. The President has applied for
the State loan on 5 miles this side the Trinity, amounting to $30,000
which amount has accumulated from the interest of the fund. |
