Three men ran off with a locomotive {on
the Mobile & Ohio RR} a few
days ago. They made for Okalona, but had to leave the engine owing to
a bridge being burnt. One of the men, an engineer, is a deserter from
the U. S. army. After getting this side of the lines, he told his
tale, and was received with open arms, placed on the railroad, and now
has given the slip. |
