Railroad Charges |
In referring to the
communication signed C. in another column, containing some severe
strictures on the managers of the Harrisburg Railroad, we have only to
say that we feel it our duty to give publicity to whatever we believe
affects the public interest, especially at this time; and if those
gentlemen referred to, have any reply to make, in justification of
these charges, our columns are open to them, and the name of our
correspondent can be had on application. We may here, however, simply
remark that we understand the charges made by the B. B. B. and C.
Railroad {Buffalo Bayou, Brazos & Colorado
RR} are no higher than the charges by all other roads, the G. H.
and H. Railroad {Galveston, Houston &
Henderson RR} alone excepted, and how far these charges are
justifiable under present circumstances, the public must judge for
themselves. |
