Col. Stevenson, President of
the Southern Pacific Railroad, has arrived at Washington from Paris,
and reports that all his arrangements with the French company for
constructing the road cannot be consummated until our political
difficulties can be settled. He has called meetings of the
stockholders at Louisville on the 14th, and at New Orleans on the 25th
of March, on business of importance. The stockholders are, at both
places, to meet the President in person. |
