The Piedmont Railroad |
We learn from the Danville Appeal that the
prospects of this road are decidedly improving. Already the track is
laid fifteen miles out from the town, and the material trains are
passing over it every day. We are informed, says the Appeal, that
passenger trains will run to Reidsville, about twenty-five miles, by
the last of October. While the work is going on so bravely, at this
end of the line, the workmen near the other end are not idle, and we
are told that the track-laying is rapidly going on there, with a
prospect of having the whole road complete at an early day. |
