Western Railroad |
The Annual Meeting of the Western Railroad
Company was held in the Town Hall on Saturday last, A. W. Steel, Esq.
presiding. The Town stock was represented by the May, A. McLean, Esq.
and the County Stock by David McNeill, Esq., Chairman of the County
Court, and Daniel McDiarmid, Esq. About 2500 shares were represented
in person or by proxy. |
C. B. Mallett, Esq. submitted the Report
of the President and Directors, from which we propose in our next to
make an interesting extract. This Report and that of the Auditing
Committee were accepted. |
The act of the Legislature, to aid in the
extension of the Road to the N. C. Road was unanimously accepted as an
amendment to the charter. |
C. B. Mallett, Esq. was unanimously
re-elected President. And the following Directors were elected, viz:
George McNeill, Jas. Kyle, T. S. Lutterlob, A. A. McKethan, W. T.
Horne, S. J. Hinsdale, H. L. Myrover, A. McLean, and E. J. Hale. |
The survey of several routes from Deep
River to the N. C. Road will be commenced forthwith. |
