The Galveston News of the 25th
says: |
We are glad to note the fact
that on the 18th, another five miles of track of the Texas & New
Orleans Railroad has been laid, on the section between Beaumont and
Orange, leaving only six miles thereof to be laid, (which has been
done by this time,) to complete the section. The track laying on the
section from Liberty to Houston was to commence last week; and the
whole Texas division is expected to be ready in two months at the
farthest. |
The Eastern Texas Railroad is
now receiving iron for 35 miles of the track from Sabine Pass which
will place it across Pine Island Bayou and past the town of Concord.
Track-laying commenced at Sabine Pass week before last, and by the 1st
February, connection is expected to be made with the Texas & New
Orleans road at Beaumont. |
