The Georgia Railroad |
The track of this road is not
as badly damaged as at first reported. From Stone Mountain to Lithonia
the road is in good running order, says the Augusta Chronicle, with the
exception of about one mile, which Gen. Slocum's corps destroyed after
leaving the main army, in their route to the east side of Yellow river.
From the Alcova down to Oconee it is only tapped occasionally, and can
easily be repaired. |
